Guides for service businesses.

Plain answers to the questions that come up when you put a website together: what goes on it, which photos to send, and how to describe what you do. Each guide is written around the framework every Horizon site uses, so it points at a section you'll actually fill in.

Three guides. Read them in any order.

Short enough to read between jobs. Useful before checkout, when you want to know what you'll be asked for, and after, with the online form open.

What a service website needs.

The sections a homeowner looks for before they call, and why the framework puts each one where it is.

Read the guide

Photos for your website.

Which photos the framework uses, how many to send, and where each one ends up on the page.

Read the guide

Writing your services.

How to name and describe the four services on your site in words a customer would use.

Read the guide

Written for the framework, not for websites in general.

Every Horizon website uses the same framework, so these guides don't have to speak in generalities. They talk about the four service cards, the eight work photos, the about section with its two paragraphs. When a guide says to write one line for each service, that line has a place on the page waiting for it.

They also line up with the online form you fill in after checkout. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes and asks for the things these guides cover: your services, your photos, and the text that goes with them. Reading first makes the form quicker. Reading after is fine too, since your website is yours to edit anytime.
