Is a $99 a month website worth it for a small business?

A $99 a month website is worth it if it replaces either a site you were never going to finish yourself or a $3,000 to $8,000 custom build that does the same job. Over three years it costs about $3,600 plus setup, which is less than most custom quotes and includes hosting, maintenance and edits the whole time. It is not worth it if you will genuinely build and maintain a $17 a month DIY site, or if you need features the framework does not have.

When $99 a month is worth it
- You were not going to build it. The most expensive website is the DIY one that stays half finished for two years. Every month without a working site is missed calls.

“Is $99 a month worth it” usually means “will this site get me work”. A website gets work when it makes the phone easy to call, shows the services and the area clearly, and looks trustworthy on a phone. That is what a service-business layout is for. No price tier guarantees calls; the layout and your reviews do the work. What $99 buys is having that layout live, maintained and current without your evenings.
